I was asked to join the design team to assist with tasks including some specific prop makes for the Richard Burton Theatre Company production of the Stephen Sondheim musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This production was designed to be performed on the Sherman Theatre main stage and ran for a week in July 2025.

Glitter-Embellished Keyboard
This Keyboard was designed by the Set Designer to be in-keeping with the established reflective glittery elements of the set design. I applied the glitter on top of a painted pink base coat.

Bird Box and ‘Miracle Elixir’
The bird box is an ebellished card board box with the addition of intentionally wonky handwritten ‘BIRDS’ signs as per the designs provided.
The bottles of ‘Miracle Elixir’ were made to look like bottles of unnatural looking urine as per the script and instruction from the director and set designer.
Workshop Visits
As well as some prop making, I was also given instruction to help communicate feedback and implement changes requested by the designer to the workshop manager during the set build process.
Set Fit Up
I also contributed to some set decorating during the set fit up. The photo on the left is a set-piece pallet that I covered with ‘blood’, and the photo on the right is a sofa that I embellished.
